Topic:

Colorado's climate is changing, and so is the way insurers look at the buildings we design. From hail and wildfire to high winds and severe freeze events, the state presents a unique set of risks that directly shape insurability and premiums. Join us for an engaging lunch presentation featuring Shea Butler, Vice President, Property and Casualty, and Henry Bledsoe, Producer, Property and Casualty, from Gallagher, as they share an insider's view of how insurance companies assess risk in Colorado and what the claims data is telling them.

Shea and Henry will walk through the most common claims insurers are seeing today, the design decisions that can meaningfully lower insurance risk, and some surprising myths vs. facts, including whether new buildings really are cheaper to insure. They'll wrap up with their top five design changes they would make right now, followed by an open Q&A. Whether you're an architect, engineer, owner, or builder, you'll leave with practical insights to design more resilient, insurable buildings for Colorado's future.
